The episode begins with Anupama questioning Baa. She reminds her that whenever Baa’s knees hurt, it was Anupama who used to massage them with oil. She then asks who now stays up massaging Baa’s legs, who keeps preparing salads, soups, and juice repeatedly for Ishu, and who designs stylish handmade earrings for the girls. She continues, asking who helps Kinjal in the kitchen every morning so she’s not late for work, who Toshu calls for tea when he has a headache, and who makes hot chocolate for Ansh during his late-night work. Turning to Dolly, Anupama asks who reminds her to take her medicine on time. She also points out how someone looks after Babu ji’s medicines, glasses, and hearing aid.

Frustrated, Anupama says that while everyone claims Mahi does nothing, she is actually doing everything out of love, without asking for anything in return. Even though Anupama tells her not to do so much, Mahi continues to help because she considers this family her own. Just because Mahi doesn’t take a salary doesn’t mean her work is meaningless. Anupama says even if they wanted to pay Mahi, they couldn’t afford her. She explains that after Choti left, Mahi filled that emptiness. One daughter gave her pain, and the other became her healer. She says if Mahi hadn’t been there, she wouldn’t have managed. Anupama adds that she can never repay Mahi for what she’s done and feels that becoming Mahi’s mother wasn’t a favor, but Mahi becoming her daughter was a blessing. Mahi hugs her emotionally. Anupama says she would even give her life for Mahi if needed.
Rahi, seeing this emotional moment, claps sarcastically and says that Anupama’s true feelings finally came out—that although Anupama always talks about Rahi, it’s Mahi who truly lives in her heart. Anupama calmly explains that a mother’s heart is big enough to hold all her children. But Rahi insists Anupama answer a question—if she had to choose between Mahi and Rahi, who would she choose? Baa and Pakhi also press her to respond. Rahi keeps asking, emphasizing that a single-letter difference (Mahi vs. Rahi) could change everything.
Anupama becomes emotional and puts her hand over her ears. Rahi asks if she would choose between her adopted and biological daughter. Finally, Anupama says “Mahi,” leaving Rahi heartbroken. Mahi gets teary. Rahi says she already knew this but still hoped to hear differently. She accuses Anupama of always choosing others over her—never choosing Choti, Aadhya, or her—and claims she never will.
Anupama tells Rahi to stop and says this wasn’t the right moment to ask such a question. She insists she still loves Rahi deeply. When Rahi left the house, Anupama lost her daughter, and Mahi lost her mother. During that time, Mahi was the one taking care of her. She would feed her, hug her, and lovingly call her “Anudi.” Anupama explains that Mahi has a special place in her heart, just as Rahi does. Rahi says that’s enough and decides to stay only until she repays the money she owes. After that, she will leave so Anupama can be happy with Mahi. Anupama tells her not to act rashly, as one wrong decision can cause lifelong regret. She walks away, leaving Rahi and Mahi staring at each other.
That night, Prem plays the flute. Anupama watches him and smiles, saying the sadness in his music reminds her of Anuj’s pain. Rahi hears the melody and approaches Prem, asking him to play again. He tells her that he only works under orders, not for music. Rahi says it’s not a demand but a request, explaining how the way he plays reminds her of her father. She admits that she’s hard to deal with, but he’s handling her well and thanks him. He responds that she’s like fire one moment and rain the next. She says that even her own mother doesn’t understand her—so how can he?
Prem advises her to try being her mother’s friend instead. Rahi says she knows he’s upset that she changed the name of “Anu ki Rasoi,” but it’s only temporary. Once she returns the money, she’ll leave. He asks why she wants to go. Rahi claims everyone is selfish. Prem gently wipes her tears. She asks him to be her “Saarthi” like he was for Anupama and help fulfill her dreams. He asks if she’s only befriending him for her own gain. She says she just wants to be friends. They shake hands, and a peacock feather falls between them. He plays the flute again, and Rahi listens, admiring him. Meanwhile, Mahi sees Rahi resting her head on Prem’s shoulder and feels jealous. The song “Hum Mile Ya Na Mile” plays.
Pari and Ishu call out to Ansh, pretending there’s a thief. Ansh runs down with a stick, asking where the thief is. Everyone shouts “Happy Birthday!” He smiles and touches Baa’s feet for blessings before hugging everyone. Pari says they had to trick him—otherwise, he wouldn’t have come down. Rahi and Prem also arrive to wish him. Ansh thanks Prem and hugs Rahi. He then asks where Anupama is. She walks in and wishes him, carrying a trolley bag. Ansh asks where she’s going. She says they’ll talk after he cuts the cake. He cuts it and feeds everyone. Then he asks again where she’s going so late at night. Toshu asks what work she has. Anupama says she’ll tell everything after she returns and reminds Ansh that she’s cooked all his favorite dishes and stored them in the fridge.
Rahi accuses her of running away from the house. Anupama says she will be back soon and tells everyone to enjoy the celebration without turning the house into a battleground. Mahi promises to keep her updated. Anupama says they can dance and have fun, but no fighting. She silently prays to Lord Dwarkadeesh, saying that though she’s being called back to Dwarka, she’s worried this time. Just as she steps out, the lights flicker and a bulb bursts. Baa asks what happened. Ansh says it could be due to a power fluctuation.
Anupama reaches the cloud kitchen and instructs Janki Behen to stay with Rahi and handle everything. She asks her to do the shopping and take care of things. Rahi arrives and says Anupama doesn’t have a habit of being great—she’s addicted to it. Anupama silently watches her.
UPCOMING
During Ansh’s birthday celebration, some boys misbehave with Mahi. Prem steps in and warns them. Later, Rahi and Mahi fight over something. When Baa tries to stop them, Rahi attempts to slap Mahi but accidentally slaps Baa. Shocked, Baa says she won’t return until Anupama comes back.
