The episode begins with Rahi urgently knocking on the door, pleading with Mahi to open up. She assures her that everything will be alright. Rahi then turns to Prem and tells him to leave, promising she’ll handle the situation. As Prem walks away, Anupama intercepts him. She reminds him that she wanted to talk after the party and before they all head home. She asks what’s troubling him. Prem, looking tense, says he needs to confess something before she questions him. Meanwhile, Mahi is overwhelmed by memories of Prem calling her his girlfriend and his recent emotional confession. Inside, Rahi worries about what she’ll tell everyone, knowing Mahi had already rejected Prem.
Suddenly, Mahi opens the door and bolts out. Rahi watches her run, worried. Prem begins opening up to Anupama, revealing there are things about him she doesn’t yet know. Before he can continue, a piercing scream from Rahi—“Mahi!”—interrupts the moment. They rush toward the pool to find Mahi floating lifelessly. Rahi doesn’t hesitate; she jumps in to save her. Anupama panics, knowing Mahi doesn’t know how to swim, and urges Rahi to help. But Mahi resists being saved and pushes Rahi away, wanting to end her life. Anupama yells at her, asking why she’s doing this.
Rahi finally manages to pull Mahi out. Gasping for breath, Mahi regains consciousness and, with tears in her eyes, asks Anupama why they didn’t let her die. She breaks down, saying she can’t live without Prem because he doesn’t love her. Her raw confession stuns everyone present.
Later at Krishnakunj, the family is shaken. Ishu tells Pakhi that they made a mistake by pushing Mahi toward Prem. Baa laments how Mahi risked everything. Toshu angrily comments that if Mahi had died, the family would’ve been entangled in court cases for life. Pakhi even fears that Kavya might return and slap legal charges on them. Baa wonders how she didn’t catch on to Prem’s affair. Ansh expresses his long-standing distrust of Prem. But Ishu defends him, saying it’s not entirely Prem’s fault. Pari tries to calm everyone, calling the matter delicate. Still, Dolly suspects Prem may have given Mahi false hopes, and Toshu declares Mahi was foolish for falling for someone they barely know. Ansh insists he’ll confront Prem, convinced Mahi wouldn’t have gone to this extent on her own.
Meanwhile, Anupama cares for Mahi, who is still heartbroken. Rahi stands silently nearby. Mahi rises and tearfully questions why Prem doesn’t love her. Anupama tries to console her, explaining that life is a blend of both joy and sorrow. She shares her own grief over losing Anuj and how she’s still surviving with a smile. “Life doesn’t stop because of heartbreak,” she says, “you walk through the thorns too, not just roses.” She tells Mahi that love must come from both sides—it cannot be forced.
Ansh, worried, says Prem has gone missing and isn’t answering calls. He suspects Prem has run away and threatens to call the police. Pari tries to calm him down and suggests letting Anupama handle things. Deep inside, she wonders how Mahi ended up in the middle when Prem clearly loves Rahi.
Back with Anupama, Mahi clings to the belief that Prem truly loves her and was only upset when he denied it. Anupama tries to ground her in reality, explaining that sometimes the heart hears what it wants to hear, not what’s true. Mahi begs Rahi to confirm Prem’s love for her, but Rahi remains silent. Anupama gently tells her not to lose herself in assumptions.
Elsewhere, Prem is parked in his jeep, crying helplessly. He’s torn and doesn’t know what to do. Meanwhile, back home, Mahi’s room becomes a storm of emotions—she throws things around, sobbing uncontrollably. She talks to herself, lamenting the loneliness of her life and how everyone sees her as a burden. She had dreamt of building a small world with Prem and Anupama as her mother, but now everything has shattered.
As Prem tries to leave town in his jeep, Rahi intercepts him by standing in his path. Shocked, he asks if both sisters are trying to die. Rahi pleads with him not to go, explaining that Mahi’s condition is critical—if anything happens to her, their mother won’t survive. She adds that if something happens to either of them, she herself will die. Alarmed, Prem warns her never to say such things again.
Rahi, desperate, begs him to marry Mahi—even if he doesn’t love her. “In India, love happens after marriage,” she reasons. “If love grows, great. If not, at least Mahi is saved.” But Prem stands firm. He tells her he’s a one-woman man, that he can’t fake love, and it would be wrong for everyone. He refuses to emotionally cheat Mahi, knowing the pain it would cause if she ever learned he loved someone else—Rahi. “I know you’re asking me to sacrifice my love,” he says with tears in his eyes, “but I can’t do that. I’m sorry.”
