Jhanak steps downstairs with her face covered by a veil, walking beside Ahaan. Ketki introduces her to the police inspector but firmly warns her not to lift the veil under any circumstances. Anirudh interjects, pointing out that the Mu-dikhai ceremony has already taken place, so revealing her face now goes against the family’s rules. Trying to calm the situation, he assures Rihaan that there are no criminals in their home. Just then, Vihaan walks in and wants to know what’s happening. Anirudh quickly fills him in, while Rihaan focuses on questioning Jhanak. He asks for her name, and before she can respond, Vihaan steps forward and introduces her as his wife, Avni. Rihaan insists on seeing her face, but Ketki puts her foot down—Jhanak must remain veiled. As tensions mount, Ahaan starts crying, and Ketki sends Jhanak back to her room. Still, Rihaan continues pressing Jhanak, who lies and says her name is Avni.

Meanwhile, Choton stands his ground in front of Mrinalini’s father. He refuses to walk away from his brother Shubh during a difficult time, even if it means losing his chance to marry Mrinalini. He calls out Mrinalini’s father for placing unfair and heartless conditions on the marriage. Bablu tries to smooth things over, but Mrinalini’s father won’t budge unless Choton accepts his demands. Left with no choice, Choton respectfully declines and calls off the proposal, breaking Mrinalini’s heart in the process. Back at the house, Rihaan voices his suspicions to Vihaan. He finds it hard to believe that an American woman would behave so demurely. Anirudh comes to Vihaan’s defense, explaining that his wife is simply adjusting to their family traditions. Rihaan then explains that his visit is tied to an attempted murder case, which instantly makes Jhanak feel slightly relieved. Anirudh continues to stand firm, urging Rihaan to look elsewhere for his suspect.
Things intensify when Mrinalini’s father accuses Choton of wanting to marry his daughter for her income. Mrinalini is quick to defend Choton, insisting that he never asked her for money or made any such demands. Despite her efforts, her father refuses to listen, and the insult wounds Choton deeply. He walks away from the marriage for good, leaving Mrinalini crushed.
Back at the main house, Ketki lashes out at Rihaan for suspecting their family without proof. Praveen Kumar also denies any association with criminals. Babuji confronts Rihaan with a simple question: why would any of them protect a criminal? Rihaan has no concrete answers and eventually decides to leave, but not before warning that he might return. Once he’s gone, Ketki thanks Anirudh for handling the situation with such grace and loyalty. The rest of the family also acknowledges his support and invite him to come back and visit anytime.
Elsewhere, Tanuja brings up the idea of delaying Mimi’s wedding. But Shubh refuses to consider it. He’s still hurting from being blamed and kicked out, and feels utterly alone. Later, Sejal makes a subtle remark that everything started going wrong after Jhanak arrived, which sows a seed of doubt among the family members. Meanwhile, Vihaan becomes curious and asks Jhanak a direct question—did she search for Anirudh because she already knew him?
