Deepa arrives at the hospital in Mohanpur with a fragile sense of hope in her heart. After narrowly escaping danger and reuniting briefly with the man who once filled her world with love, she is desperate to know if Suraj—once known to her as Surjyo—can remember the life they shared. The hospital’s dull white walls, flickering tube lights, and the steady sound of monitors echo Deepa’s inner anxiety. She clutches Shona and Rupa’s hands tightly as she moves toward the ward, hoping for a miracle. Inside the hospital, something unexpected happens. The medical staff rush to handle a sudden emergency case. A patient with severe injuries is wheeled into the ER, and the team is momentarily overwhelmed. Just then, Suraj, who has been staying in the hospital due to his recent collapse, steps forward. With confidence that surprises everyone—including himself—he begins to assess the patient’s condition and directs the doctors on how to stabilize the patient. He moves instinctively, as though a switch has flipped in his brain. His hands, once trained in surgery and healing, operate with familiar ease.

The doctors are stunned. They had been told that this man had amnesia—no memory of his past or his profession. Yet here he is, treating an emergency like an experienced doctor, saving a life without hesitation. Whispers ripple through the staff: Who is this man? How can he know all this? Deepa watches from afar with tears welling in her eyes. For the first time in months, she sees a glimpse of the old Surjyo—her Suraj—the man who had once promised to dedicate his life to medicine and to her. It’s more than just a flicker of memory; it’s muscle memory, a deep-rooted part of his identity fighting to surface. But before she can approach him, something unexpected happens.
Feeling disoriented and overwhelmed by the attention and confusion around him, Suraj quietly slips away from the hospital. The doctors panic. The man they were trying to help—the one they thought was regaining his memory—has suddenly vanished again. They alert the staff, but Deepa doesn’t wait. Her instincts take over as she races through the streets of Mohanpur, desperate to find him before he gets hurt. Hours later, Deepa finds him. She spots him slumped beside a broken wall near the edge of a quiet field, his clothes dusty, his expression vacant, and his hands trembling. The glow of the heroic doctor she had witnessed earlier has faded. Now, he looks like a man lost in a sea of confusion. His energy is drained, his spirit clouded by questions he cannot answer.
Deepa kneels beside him, holding back her tears. “Suraj… it’s me. I’m here. I never left you,” she whispers softly. But Suraj doesn’t respond—his mind remains trapped somewhere between what was and what is.
For Deepa, the moment is heartbreaking. She had just seen proof that the Surjyo she knew is still inside him. Yet here he is, broken again, like a mirror shattered into pieces she can’t quite fit back together.
Still, she refuses to give up.
That single moment in the hospital—his hands moving like a doctor’s, his voice giving medical commands—tells her all she needs to know: his memory is still alive, even if buried deep. And now, more than ever, Deepa knows her mission is clear. She must help him heal not just his body, but his mind and soul—one step, one memory at a time.
