Mohit’s family arrives at Mukta’s house, confronting her with anger and disbelief. They demand to know how she could have married Mohit when he already had a wife and daughter. Mukta, visibly shaken, pleads for them to trust her, insisting she had no idea about Mohit’s previous marriage. Deepali lashes out, questioning whether Mukta ever tried to learn about Mohit’s family or made an effort to meet them. Mukta and Teju try to explain that they had often questioned Mohit, but he always dodged the topic, claiming his family would never accept Mukta into their lives. Vedaan, confused and frightened by the rising tension, turns to Teju and asks who these people are and why they’re speaking so harshly to his mother. Overcome with emotion, Mohit’s father steps forward and hugs Vedaan tightly, revealing that he is his grandfather. The moment is heavy with pain and shock. Soon after, Mohit’s family takes his body away for the final rites.

At the cremation ground, Santosh tells Vedaan to light the funeral pyre. Terrified, Vedaan refuses, fearing that doing so might hurt his father. Teju kneels beside him and softly explains the meaning of the ritual, urging him to be brave. Just as she’s about to guide him, Santosh stops her, insisting that women should not be part of the ceremony. Eventually, Vedaan gathers the courage and performs the last rites himself. Following the funeral, Mohit’s father questions Mukta about the house she lives in, asking if it belongs to her. Mukta clarifies that it’s a government-allocated residence. A neighbor overhears the conversation and informs them that once the authorities discover she wasn’t Mohit’s legal wife, she and the children will be forced to vacate. Panic sets in, and Mukta, holding back tears, begs Mohit’s father to let them stay with him. She explains she can’t manage two children on her small income. He hesitates but ultimately agrees.
Teju, however, refuses to let her mother depend on anyone. She boldly declares that she will find work and take care of the family on her own. Mohit’s father is unimpressed by her strong stance and criticizes her attitude, but still tells them to prepare for the journey to Nagpur. His decision is firm—Mukta and the children will come with them.
Later, Teju gets a phone call from Neil. He asks if everything is okay, mentioning he’s been trying to reach Mohit but hasn’t gotten through. Holding back tears, Teju informs him that Mohit has died. Neil is struck silent by the news, and Teju, finally overwhelmed by the grief she’s been holding back, breaks down.

Mohit’s parents decide to take Mukta and her children to Nagpur with them. But back at Chavan Nivas, Lakshmi is burning with fury. She warns that if Mohit’s family dares to bring Mukta and her children into the house, she will set the entire home on fire.
