Saras And Kumud 7th August 2025 Written Update Starlife
Saras welcomes Kumud to their new life in Mumbai, warmly saying, “Welcome to Mumbai, Mrs. Kumud Saraswatichandra Vyas,” making her smile as they arrive. A man brings them to see a flat, and Saras seems optimistic. But as they walk through the apartment, Kumud quickly grows uneasy. The kitchen and bathroom are placed awkwardly close together, and the overall space feels suffocating. She’s disheartened by the lack of ventilation and greenery and questions where they’ll even keep a few plants. When she hears that gardening is not allowed in the building and that neighbors might complain, she grows even more upset. The metal grills on the windows make her feel trapped. Kumud bluntly tells the man that they can’t live there—it doesn’t feel like a home. Saras tries to explain that the grills are for their safety, but she’s already made up her mind. She understands Mumbai can’t offer what Ratnagiri did, but she still hopes they can find something better. Saras agrees to continue looking, apologizing to the man, who promises to show them other options.

Elsewhere, Anushka is busy working on her photography project and is looking for someone to pose for pictures. She sees a man who refuses, saying he’s busy, and she’s left waiting. She spots Kabir and considers asking him, but then changes her mind, knowing he’ll just react coldly. She decides instead to secretly take his photo. Unfortunately, she accidentally knocks over a paint bucket, spilling color all over Kabir. Furious, he lashes out at her and demands to know why she took his picture. Anushka argues back, saying she needed photos of laborers and assumed he was one. Their conversation turns into a full-blown spat. Kabir accuses her of constantly trying to trap him, and Anushka walks away just as annoyed, calling him impossible.
Back with Saras and Kumud, they check into a hotel. Kumud is again disappointed by how cramped even the hotel rooms are in such a big city. Saras tries to cheer her up, saying they’ll find a place they both like tomorrow. He encourages her to freshen up while he orders food. As she heads off, Saras receives a call from Badimaa. He tells her that Kumud didn’t like the first flat and that he understands—after living in a big home all her life, adjusting to small spaces would be hard. Kumud overhears this part of the conversation and misunderstands it as Saras complaining about her. Hurt, she walks away, leaving him confused. He gently tries to call her for dinner, hoping she’ll come back.
The next day, they head out with the same agent to explore more options. He promises to show them a flat in the popular Lokhandwala area. Once there, Kumud is again unimpressed. Though the agent boasts about the garden, Kumud sarcastically points out that only two plants can fit there. She says the apartment feels like a box, not a home, and it certainly isn’t worth the high rent. After rejecting several places, she and Saras admit they’re tired and hungry. Saras mentions that perhaps their first option was the best one, but Kumud insists she didn’t feel any warmth in that place. It felt wrong to her. Saras respects her instinct and asks the agent to take them somewhere for lunch.
The agent suggests trying local Mumbai food, particularly the city’s staple—vada pav. Kumud loves the idea and is delighted when she finally gets to taste it. She reminisces about Kusum and wishes the whole family were there with them. Saras gently listens and smiles, happy to see her a bit more cheerful. After eating, he urges the agent to take them to see more homes.
Back in Ratnagiri, Anushka is entertaining the family with the photos she secretly took of Kabir, making everyone laugh. When Kabir enters and sees the photos, he’s irritated as usual, but Danny tries to lighten the mood. Vidyachatur says he’s missing Saras and Kumud terribly. With Kusum away at her friend’s place, the house feels emptier. Anushka offers to help out and make tea, and Vidyachatur warmly praises her while Danny and Kabir exchange playful barbs.
Later, Saras and Kumud continue their search and arrive at another society. It’s quiet, green, and peaceful. Kumud is instantly drawn to it and declares that they should live there. But the agent says there are no available flats—except for one that’s been locked up for five years. He explains that the owner has never rented it out and doesn’t seem interested. Kumud is undeterred and asks if they can at least speak to the owner. Saras hesitates, but Kumud’s resolve is firm. Just then, the owner, Prashant, unexpectedly arrives and warmly invites them to view the flat. Saras and Kumud are pleasantly surprised when he agrees to rent it out to them. Kumud’s face lights up with relief and joy.
