Jhanak 21st August 2025 Written Update Starlife
The episode begins with Mimi telling Choton that she is glad his wedding is happening before she leaves the house. Choton reassures her warmly, promising that this will always remain her home, no matter what changes after his marriage. She hugs him tightly, her heart at ease. Dadi then reminds Choton that the haldi ceremony must begin at the auspicious time. Choton calls out for Jhanak, but Bipasha quickly remarks that Jhanak has no role in the ritual since she isn’t a married woman. Arshi adds mockingly that Jhanak behaves as if she is desperate to play the role of a wife, even though her own marriage was never real.

Dadi intervenes and pointedly tells Jhanak to keep her distance from the wedding rituals, calling her presence unlucky. Anirudh objects, questioning such harsh words, but Dadi insists Jhanak has suffered too many misfortunes, and only ill-fated people attract such bad luck. Choton, however, doesn’t agree—he openly declares that he wants Jhanak to be a part of his wedding celebrations. Meanwhile, Jhimli grows restless with Anindo. She asks why their marriage isn’t being held in a temple. Anindo scolds her for sharing every detail with Anuradha, while Jhimli points out the absence of a priest. Anindo brushes it aside, telling her they will marry in front of his friends instead. Jhimli feels no excitement for this rushed ceremony. Anindo tries to reassure her, saying they can remarry later with his parents’ blessings. His friends laugh and tease about the first night, leaving Jhimli disheartened. She hadn’t expected such crudeness from him. Still, Anindo insists they should complete the wedding now. One of his friends even plays the marriage mantra, but Jhimli refuses to accept such a marriage.
Angered, Anindo declares he never begged her for this relationship. When she questions his behavior, he forcefully applies vermilion on her forehead. His friend announces it is time to eat, but Jhimli criticizes the poor food, saying it isn’t even from a proper restaurant.
Anindo urges her to at least try it, saying he doesn’t want her money to go to waste. Jhimli snaps back that she eats better meals in her basti. Losing patience, Anindo tells her to return there if she prefers it. Upset, Jhimli storms out. One of his friends warns that she might take the money with her, but Anindo confidently replies that he has the money and no proof exists that she ever gave it to him. The friend advises him to calm her down. Reluctantly, Anindo follows her and tells Jhimli to remember that it is their wedding day, urging her to be happy. She looks at him with doubt and asks if he plans to betray her. He questions why she would think such a thing.
Back at Choton’s haldi, Jhanak quietly tells him that she doesn’t feel bad about Dadi’s words, because deep down she knows she is not unlucky. Tanuja, however, presses her for answers, saying everyone wants to know why she didn’t marry Vihaan. Jhanak calmly replies that she married Anirudh before God, and she understands what that marriage truly means to her. She turns to Arshi and makes it clear she expects nothing from it. For now, her only wish is to enjoy Choton’s wedding and the haldi rituals. Apu adds that if Lalon had been present, he would have taught everyone a sharp lesson. To lighten the mood, Jhanak suggests they all dance.
Vihaan, watching from a distance, wonders aloud how Anirudh could have turned away from Jhanak. Anirudh firmly tells him not to drag the past into this moment. Vihaan replies that he will leave once Choton’s wedding is over. Ignoring the tension, Jhanak joins the dance with a smile. Back with Jhimli, she becomes upset seeing Anindo’s friends drinking. She warns him not to join them. He assures her he won’t, then politely asks his friends to leave. He mentions he must visit his parents the next day, but his friend teases him for being in such a rush. Eventually, the friends leave.
Elsewhere, Shrishti speaks to Arshi, admitting that Jhanak carries a heavy burden of pain in her heart. Arshi lashes back, accusing Shrishti of neglect and claiming that Jhanak doesn’t even want to see her face. Shrishti acknowledges her past mistakes but receives no softening from Arshi. Meanwhile, Jhanak applies haldi to others with a cheerful smile and continues to dance. Arshi snaps at her, sarcastically commenting on her dance skills. Jhanak answers with quiet defiance, saying that Arshi is the true legacy dancer in the family. Dadi interrupts, insisting they complete the rituals properly. Shrishti then approaches Jhanak, but Jhanak stands her ground. She asks Shrishti what more she expects from her and admits that every time Shrishti calls her “daughter,” she remembers her mother Urvashi with pain.
As the haldi continues, Anirudh applies haldi to Choton but accidentally bumps into Jhanak in the process, leaving the family stunned. Arshi immediately reacts, saying this was bound to happen. Anirudh defends himself, explaining that it was purely an accident. Still, Arshi declares that such incidents will never change anything, because she is his wife. Anirudh dismisses the tension, calling it destiny’s game, and urges everyone to focus on celebrating Choton’s big day. To shift the mood, he invites Vihaan to dance and joins the festivities himself. Bipasha remarks sarcastically, wondering if Jhanak won’t dance now. Jhanak smiles faintly and says she will dance only when she truly feels like it.
