The episode starts with Sayali giving her mangalsutra to Paresh. He gets surprised and says a married woman should never remove her mangalsutra because it symbolizes her marriage, and asks her to wear it again. Sayali calmly replies that her husband, Sachin, is with her. She then asks Sachin to tie a black thread around her neck. Sachin gently ties the thread. Paresh questions if she will wear a thread instead of a gold mangalsutra. Sayali explains that because of their financial situation, she can’t wear gold. She says it’s important for her to maintain her self-respect and honor her father’s struggles. She insists that she will wear gold jewelry only when Sachin earns it with his hard work. She refuses to accept any jewelry from others. She firmly says that any thread tied by Sachin is more valuable to her than gold. She mentions the earrings Aaji gave her and warns that if anyone speaks badly about her father or family, she will not stay quiet. Saying this, she walks away. Sachin follows her. Paresh smiles seeing this, while Renu looks upset.
Sachin praises Sayali for standing up to Renu and tells her that he supports her. Sayali gets emotional and hugs him. He comforts her and asks her to make a list of all the gold jewelry she wants, joking that even if it’s 50 tolas, he will get it for her eventually. The next morning, Sayali is preparing breakfast. Renu comes and orders her to boil water quickly for Riya as she has to leave for work. Sayali informs her that the power will be back soon. Despite the argument, Sayali boils the water and calls Riya to take it. Riya thanks her, saying the geyser isn’t working because of the power cut. Sachin watches everything quietly. Just then, Renu stops Riya and insists that Sayali herself should take the water to her. Sachin observes the situation.
