The episode opens with Moti Baa confronting Rahi, questioning why she refuses to marry Prem even though she loves him and Prem has expressed his desire to marry her. Rahi calmly explains that she wants to focus on her career first and isn’t mentally ready for marriage yet. She shares that her mother taught her to be independent, no matter how wealthy the family might be. Rahi reveals her dream of opening a dance academy like her mother’s and says she wants to ease her mother’s burdens before she can think about marriage. She apologizes sincerely to Moti Baa. Then Khyati asks if Rahi even wants to marry Prem at all. Rahi admits that she does, but says she needs more time to truly understand him. She compares their relationship to wet mud that needs to ripen, so she refuses the marriage for now. Prem supports her, saying he isn’t ready either, and asks Moti Baa to take back the Shagun. Rahi places the bridal dupatta on the table, requesting some time to figure things out. Meanwhile, Mita hires a servant who takes Badshah and Radha away from the house. Later, Anupama apologizes to Moti Baa on Rahi’s behalf, explaining that neither Rahi nor Prem is ready for marriage. Moti Baa voices her disappointment, reminding them that she has already given the Shagun and hasn’t punished Rahi yet, who is refusing to accept it.

Anupama defends Rahi, pointing out that this was sudden and neither family was prepared. She says times have changed, and marriages shouldn’t happen without the consent of those involved. Moti Baa counters that she only gave the Shagun to avoid gossip and points out how Prem was once engaged to Mahi for similar reasons, though that engagement didn’t last even a few hours. She tells Anupama to look at how happy Prarthana is, as she married at 21. Prarthana, however, looks sad. Prem asks Moti Baa to see things from his perspective, but she dismisses him, blaming modern women for competing with men and causing broken marriages. She opposes Rahi’s career ambitions firmly. Anupama stands her ground, insisting that women must be independent. But Moti Baa argues that the Kothari bahu should not have to work. Anupama replies that life is unpredictable and times change; women need to have careers. She has lived through different eras and believes everyone should be independent. Prem says he will marry only after he establishes his career. Meanwhile, Parag accuses Prem of working for the Shah family, which leads to a heated argument between the two. Rahi asks Parag not to say such things and urges him to be happy that Prem wants to build his own future. Parag retorts that their family already has enough wealth to last seven generations. Rahi fires back that if that’s the case, Parag should stop working too, but he’s used to it. Parag challenges Prem about being the Shah family’s lawyer. Prem asks him what his problem is, and Parag bluntly says it’s him and his attitude.
Anupama tries to calm everyone, saying neither side is entirely right or wrong. She continues to support Rahi and Prem’s choices, urging Parag and Moti Baa to let the young couple decide their career paths. Baa, Toshu, and Pakhi grow annoyed, but Kinjal agrees with her mother.
Moti Baa worries aloud about what will happen if Rahi and Prem stay together without marrying. Anupama reassures her, asking her to trust how they’ve been raised. But Moti Baa harshly reminds her that Rahi has already run away several times, and Pakhi and Toshu had runaway marriages. Anupama counters with the example of Krishna and Rukmini. Moti Baa angrily tells her not to lecture her about marriage, calling her a failed mother who couldn’t save her own marriage and insists that divorce is a sin.
Anupama challenges that idea, asking if it is still a sin if, on your 25th wedding anniversary, you see your husband with another woman, or if your husband treats you like a doormat. She shares that her first marriage was arranged and that she cried almost every day, asking if walking away was a sin. She explains that divorce is never anyone’s choice, but sometimes the limit is crossed and destiny plays its part. She admits Pakhi’s divorce happened because of her, and mentions Toshu and Kinjal’s divorce was avoided only because Kinjal managed the situation, though she knows Kinjal is still sad. Anupama reveals she divorced her first husband for many reasons and later divorced her second husband because she wanted his happiness. She says Moti Baa knew all this but should have understood it better. She emphasizes that she does not favor divorce and believes both sides must try to save the relationship. Moti Baa insists divorce is wrong, regardless of excuses, and blames Anupama for teaching the same to her daughter. She claims girls demand large sums from their husbands after divorce and accuses mothers like Anupama of encouraging their daughters to seek divorce.

Parag gives Moti Baa an ultimatum, demanding she choose between him and Prem. He tells her that if she loves her grandson more, she should consider her elder son as dead. The stress takes a toll on Moti Baa, and she faints. Anil rushes to her side, shouting for her. Prem visits her, and she makes a heartfelt plea to Rahi and Prem, begging them to fulfill her dream by getting married. She also urges Anupama to convince them.
