Characters and Setting
Manasi Desai is the youngest daughter of the Desai family. Bold and progressive, she holds a well‐paid position at Lankari Finance, where she earns respect for her professionalism and dedication . Aniket, her childhood friend and secret love, is an MBA graduate forced by circumstances to drive a taxi. Despite his education, he struggles with unemployment and societal judgment, living alone with his widowed mother, Usha . Samar Pratap, the newly appointed branch manager at Lankari Finance, is wealthy, charismatic, and dangerously obsessive. Upon joining the company, he quickly fixates on Manasi, viewing her as the perfect “work wife” and leveraging his authority to pursue her
READ MORE Love Across Class Divides Manasi and Aniket’s bond is rooted in years of friendship and shared history. Their romance blossoms despite stark class differences: Manasi’s comfortable middle‐class upbringing contrasts sharply with Aniket’s more modest circumstances . These social divides reemerge throughout the narrative—Aniket often feels judged by Manasi’s well‐off relatives, and pressure mounts when Manasi’s elder sister Megha suffers social stigma after a failed marriage.Samar’s Obsession and Manipulations From the very first episode, Samar’s sinister intentions are clear. Disguised as a customer, he secretly assesses Manasi’s conduct, then unveils himself as her new boss, immediately subjecting her to intense scrutiny and unwanted advances . He stalks Manasi and Aniket on the streets, uses his position to burden her with excessive work, and orchestrates misunderstandings between her and Aniket to drive a wedge in their relationship.Secrets and the Secret Wedding Fearing Samar will arrange her marriage to someone else, Manasi convinces Aniket to marry her in secret, just twenty days before the big day her family believes is arranged with another groom . This clandestine marriage brings a surge of romantic highs—from rooftop rendezvous to quiet moments tending household chores together—but also spawns a host of new challenges as they scramble to keep the union hidden from even their closest kin.Family Tensions and Satyajit’s Intrigue While Manasi’s family remains blissfully unaware of the secret marriage, unknown to most, Samar has planted his confidant Satyajit within the Desai household. Satyajit’s covert reports on the family’s dynamics and vulnerabilities give Samar an insider’s leverage, enabling him to sow discord, undermine their peace, and then pose as their savior—deepening Manasi’s sense of obligation and due debt.Climactic Showdowns As the series progresses, Samar’s obsession escalates into outright sabotage: he leverages his power to denigrate Aniket’s taxi business, pressures Manasi with impossible targets at work, and fabricates crises to isolate her emotionally. Meanwhile, Aniket, desperate to prove himself worthy, strives to secure a stable job and safeguard their marriage, setting up a dramatic face‐off between money and love.Themes and Resolution At its core, ITHUNZI explores the resilience of love in the face of greed, power, and social judgment. Manasi embodies a modern heroine—career‐oriented, assertive, and unafraid to defy norms—while Aniket represents steadfast devotion. Samar personifies the dark side of privilege, using wealth to manipulate and control. Through their intertwined journeys, the show invites viewers to consider whether love’s sincerity can ultimately triumph over calculated ambition. Conclusion With its blend of romance, suspense, and social commentary, ITHUNZI struck a chord with Marathi audiences. Its portrayal of a woman fighting simultaneously for her professional autonomy and personal happiness, against a backdrop of familial loyalty and societal pressures, ensures the series remains a memorable exploration of what it truly means to choose love over convenience—and joy over sorrow.: Ithunzi On Zeezonke Full Story Summary , Plot & Casts.
