The episode opens with Arshi revealing that Jhanak had once claimed Anirudh loved her. Jhanak calmly explains that while Anirudh did have feelings for her in the past, he stepped back when he realized it was wrong. She admits she still loves him but has no intention of pursuing him, assuring Arshi there’s no reason to worry about her presence in the house. Unbeknownst to them, Anirudh overhears their conversation and steps in. Arshi, maintaining her composed tone, asks Jhanak to bring her soup. Jhanak instead offers to bring juice after an hour, suggesting she should help Anjana with household chores in the meantime. Without protest, Jhanak leaves the room.

Once alone with Anirudh, Arshi asks if her words upset him. He responds by saying she could have hired a caretaker. Arshi counters that with Shubh’s financial condition, it’s unnecessary—Jhanak is already living in the house, so she might as well help. She warns that hiring outside help would mean sending Jhanak to Srishti’s house. Anirudh bristles at the idea of treating Jhanak like a maid, but Arshi brushes it off, pointing out that Jhanak is caring for her sister. It dawns on Anirudh that Arshi has started a new mind game. Elsewhere, Jhimli speaks to her boyfriend, voicing her frustrations. She laments that if her father were alive, her life would be different, and questions why he hasn’t introduced her to his parents. He admits he can’t tell them he loves a girl from the Basti, nor can he invite them to her modest home. He reassures her of his love and promises marriage, while she insists she’ll secure her rightful share no matter what. He vows his support.
Back at the house, Anirudh approaches Jhanak, asking if she hates him. She advises him to focus on his own life, but he insists that her staying under his roof is enough for him. She explains why she called Choton instead of him. Concerned for her safety, Anirudh warns her not to go outside. When he asks if she’s avoiding him because he’s unhappy, she says her reasons have nothing to do with her feelings. He claims he deserves her hatred, and she quietly agrees.
Later, Appu tells Anuradha that the doctor said she will recover soon. But Jhimli complains about the expenses for Appu’s treatment and pointedly asks Lalon when her marriage will take place. Anuradha scolds Jhimli for blaming Lalon. Appu tries to reassure her, promising to work after recovery so they can arrange a grand wedding for her, but Jhimli pushes her away. Lalon insists he hasn’t used Jhimli’s share of the money.
Anuradha declares she won’t hand Jhimli the money because she distrusts her boyfriend. Jhimli threatens to go to a lawyer if she’s denied her share. Lalon says he’ll give it to her despite Anuradha’s protests. Kajol arrives just in time to hear Jhimli repeat her threat. Anuradha warns that her boyfriend will ruin her life, but Jhimli dismisses her concerns, claiming he simply can’t bring his parents to the Basti. Eventually, Lalon relents and agrees to give her the money.
Meanwhile, Anirudh tries to clarify matters with Jhanak, asking if she truly believes he betrayed her. She challenges him to deny it, and when he does, she says she’s not insulting him. He tells her she can choose not to speak to him, and she pointedly asks if he intends to order her around like Arshi does. She announces she’ll remain until Arshi gives birth and will use the time to plan her future. When Anirudh asks if she intends to marry, she says marriage isn’t every girl’s ultimate goal and accuses him of being unable to see her happy. She walks away, adding that he can speak to her only as his wife’s sister.
