Jhanak Friday 29th August 2025 Written Update Starlife
The episode begins with tension lingering in the hospital corridors. Shrishti turns to Vinayak and says it’s fortunate they managed to arrive on time, pointing out that apart from Jhanak, no one from the Basu family has shown up. Jhanak, standing quietly but firmly, explains that the family couldn’t attend because it’s Choton and Mrinalini’s reception day. Shrishti sighs in disappointment, saying that at least Shubh and Tanuja should have been present to show support. Jhanak, sensing her unease, reassures her gently that her presence is enough. Shrishti, always protective of her daughter, reminds her that as Arshi’s mother, it’s her duty to be there no matter what. But then she adds, in a softer tone, that she is also Jhanak’s mother. Jhanak looks at her with restrained emotion and replies that it took her a very long time to accept that truth. The moment is heavy with unspoken feelings, but Vinayak breaks it by saying he’ll call Anirudh once there’s confirmation about Arshi’s surgery. Jhanak quickly assures him that Arshi is stable and that the operation will happen today. She urges both Shrishti and Vinayak to go inside and sit, trying to keep them calm in the chaos.

Meanwhile, back at the reception, Choton quietly asks Anirudh about Arshi’s condition. Anirudh, weary but steady, reassures him that she is stable for now. Choton insists that once the rituals are done, he’ll rush to be with him. Mrinalini, unable to hide her concern, asks whether Arshi is all alone in the hospital. Anirudh explains that Jhanak is already there, keeping watch. Choton, ever hopeful, tells him not to worry, that everything will turn out fine.
At home, Kajol paces with unease, deeply worried about Jhimli. Lalon reports that Jhimli’s phone is switched off and even the police don’t seem able to help. Appu grows emotional, lamenting how much she misses Jhimli, certain that Jhimli must be missing them too.
Elsewhere, Jhimli sits in a car with Anindo, her eyes narrowing with suspicion. She questions whether the car really belongs to him. Anindo tries to maintain his smooth façade, but Jhimli, sharp as ever, calls him out, saying she knows he isn’t a software engineer at all—just a mechanic. Anindo, rattled and caught in his own lie, abruptly stops the car to make a phone call, clearly trying to avoid her probing questions.
Back at the Basu house, Shubh casually tells Anirudh that he’ll visit the hospital tomorrow. Exhausted and frustrated, Anirudh snaps back that by then, everything might already be over. Mrinalini, still sensitive about the situation, points out that Shubh and Tanuja should have gone today itself to support Arshi. Tanuja, unwilling to be drawn into the matter, curtly tells her not to meddle in things that don’t concern her. Mrinalini refuses to back down, arguing that as part of the family she has every right to speak her mind. She tries to coax Anirudh into eating something and resting, but he waves her off, drained, saying he only wants rest. When Shubh asks who is currently with Arshi, Bipasha coldly answers that Jhanak is at the hospital. Mrinalini remarks that Jhanak must truly care for Arshi if she went despite the tension, but Bipasha immediately scolds her, saying she should stop giving such opinions. Bitterly, Bipasha accuses Jhanak of using this as an excuse to stay close to Anirudh.
Anirudh finally loses patience and tells Bipasha to stop with her unnecessary comments. He says firmly that he knows exactly what kind of person Jhanak is and doesn’t need anyone to explain her to him. Shubh, seizing the chance to stir trouble, asks if Jhanak will leave the house after Arshi gives birth. Tanuja quickly interjects that Jhanak herself has already said she would. Choton, trying to diffuse the tension, offers that if Jhanak has no place, she can always stay at his house. Mrinalini, too, adds that Jhanak is welcome if she chooses. But before the discussion stretches further, Anirudh cuts it short, saying bluntly that Jhanak will not stay, and walks away.
On the road, Appu suddenly spots Jhimli in Anindo’s car. Her heart leaps and she calls out Jhimli’s name, alerting the family. They all rush to catch a glimpse of her. Jhimli too sees them through the window, her eyes filling with a mixture of confusion and longing. But Anindo, oblivious or perhaps pretending not to notice, drives on at a sharp speed. Appu, panicked, orders their driver to follow the car. Lalon, his jaw tight with worry, tells Kajol to call the police at once. Inside the car, Jhimli questions Anindo nervously about why he’s driving so fast. He coldly reminds her that she had stolen money, and if she gets caught, she’ll be in serious trouble. Kajol, her hands trembling, quickly informs the police inspector about the situation. Anindo tries to soothe Jhimli with false promises, telling her to trust him and his “client,” but her fear only grows as Lalon and Appu’s suspicion deepens.
Back in the hospital corridor, Shrishti looks at Vinayak with heavy eyes and admits that she should have told him the truth earlier. She confesses that though she cannot erase the past, she is willing to change herself now. Vinayak, pragmatic as always, reminds her that if she truly wants to change, she must also take responsibility for Jhanak’s future and career. Shrishti nods, but adds with honesty that Jhanak won’t easily let her help. Vinayak encourages her to at least try convincing Jhanak and promises he will talk to the girl himself. Shrishti is moved, thanking him for giving her a place in the family again. But Vinayak, his tone cool, says that while he may have accepted her presence, he cannot forget everything that has happened. Just then, he notices Shrishti receiving a call from Kul Bhushan. His expression hardens, his anger rising at the sight of the name.
At the Bose house, tension spreads like wildfire. Dadi paces anxiously, wondering why there is no update from the hospital. Aunt, sensing the strained silence, asks where Mrinalini has gone. Tanuja replies that she has retired to her room to rest. Aunt then raises the question everyone has been avoiding—what exactly is Jhanak doing at the hospital? Anjana, calm but firm, explains that Jhanak is Arshi’s sister and has every right to be there.
In the hospital, preparations for the operation are complete. The doctor tells Nurse Sunita that the surgery must begin immediately. She asks if Arshi’s family is present, and Sunita assures her they are. The nurse then approaches Arshi’s husband and tells him not to worry, that everything will be taken care of. Inside, the situation is critical—both Arshi and the baby are fighting for survival. Finally, the operation reaches its climax, and Arshi gives birth. The family breathes a sigh of relief, but in the shadows of the ward, Nurse Sunita quietly carries the newborn away. Moments later, she switches Arshi’s baby with another patient’s child, her face betraying no emotion as she executes the heartless act.
