The episode begins with Anirudh, his family, and the police arriving at the ashram to ask about Jhanak. Pandit ji tells them it’s impossible for anyone to survive. He says he saw the girl but couldn’t save her, and she was already dead. Anirudh asks if he is sure. Pandit ji says he believes so. Choton asks where her body went. Pandit ji explains that because the water level was high, the car might have drifted back into the river. He says he felt really bad because the girl was innocent. The inspector mentions they heard that Pandit ji brought the girl to the ashram to save her. Pandit ji denies it, saying no one can bring the dead back to life. The commissioner suggests maybe the girl was just unconscious. Pandit ji lies and disagrees.
Pandit ji then says maybe it was a murder. The inspector says the car is missing. Pandit ji replies that the place is far from the ashram and maybe some poor people stole the car and sold it. He says he didn’t perform the last rites because he expected the police to handle the body, and it wasn’t his duty to inform them. He asks if they are blaming him. Choton says they aren’t blaming him, but since they didn’t see the body, they feel Jhanak might still be alive. Pandit ji says if she were alive, she would have contacted them. He asks if they are her family. Anirudh says Jhanak is part of their family, but they don’t know what happened to her. Pandit ji says he can’t help them. Meenakshi says they heard a girl came to the ashram that day and asks to meet her. Pandit ji gives information about the people living there. The inspector asks for the names and details of everyone staying in the ashram. The commissioner says it’s part of their investigation. Bablu tells Pandit ji not to feel bad, as they are only searching for the truth. Pandit ji asks someone to gather everyone. He tells them to speak with Guru ji, his friend, who helped build the ashram. The commissioner asks what Pandit ji did before becoming a saint. Pandit ji says he doesn’t want to talk about his past and can’t help them. The inspector asks about his profession. Pandit ji refuses, saying it has nothing to do with this case. Meenakshi says fine and suggests meeting the others. Gita tells Jhanak to cover her face with a ghunghat and step outside. She tells Jhanak not to answer any questions and says they will tell everyone she recently got married. Gita asks if Guru ji is coming. Jhanak says yes and steps out, spotting Anirudh. Gita tells her not to be afraid. Guru ji arrives, and the inspector starts questioning everyone.
Anirudh feels shocked seeing Guru ji. Pandit ji introduces him as Pandit Kul Bhushan. Anirudh thinks he has seen this man before or at least someone who looks like him. Jhanak thinks to herself, “Sir ji, you are still searching for me, but everything will be fine. I thought you couldn’t live without me, but you are doing okay.”
Meenakshi notices the girl hiding under a big ghunghat and questions it. Anirudh looks at Jhanak. Meenakshi asks Pandit ji to make her lift her veil. Pandit ji refuses, saying she won’t show her face. Anirudh asks her name. Pandit ji says she can’t reveal it because she just got married a few days ago. He points to a man and says he is her husband. Anirudh feels a strange connection and thinks, why does it feel like she is Jhanak? Jhanak silently cries and thinks that the old Jhanak is gone, and she is now Nutan, waiting to uncover the secrets of her life.
Anirudh questions Guru ji if they have met before. Guru ji says he has been living there for many years and it is not possible. He asks Anirudh if he is looking for someone. Anirudh denies it and says they should leave. Everyone leaves. Jhanak lifts her ghunghat and looks on.
Back at the Bose house, everyone mourns Jhanak’s death. Aditya looks very sad. Dadi says they will do everything for Jhanak’s soul to rest in peace. The pandit assures her not to worry. Vinayak says he had high hopes from everyone and expected them to do the right thing. Bablu says Anjana is completely broken and he can’t handle her. He adds that Appu loved Jhanak deeply and is now crying at her in-laws’ house. They talk about Jhanak.
Mimi feels guilty and says they mistreated Jhanak and should not have done so. Rumi questions her sudden sympathy. Arshi comes in and says she has seen big posters of Nutan. She says she plans to attend her dance show but notes that Nutan’s face is hidden, and there’s some mystery. Lal says he also saw the posters. Tanuja tells Arshi that Anirudh won’t leave her and will come back eventually. Arshi agrees and says her father also said the same. She says the house feels empty after her mom went to jail. Tanuja warns her not to talk about that in front of Aditya.
Appu and Lalon arrive. Appu cries heavily. Meenakshi hugs and comforts her. Lalon says Appu will fall sick if she stays upset and refuses to eat. Appu says she loved Jhanak very much and doesn’t understand why Jhanak left them. Dadu consoles her. Choton says he cannot force Anirudh to come home. Aditya insists that Anirudh should be there. Arshi says Anirudh is emotionally broken and shouldn’t be forced to come. Aditya scolds her for saying that. Dadu cries and says Anirudh is sitting alone in his room and doesn’t have the courage to come to them. Dadi argues and says Shrishti suffered a lot because of Jhanak. She asks if they believe Shrishti is a murderer. She stays upset. Dadu tells her to open her eyes and see the truth. Shubh asks everyone to stop arguing.
Aditya goes to meet Anirudh. Anirudh sits alone and cries. Aditya also feels sad and sits beside him. He tells Anirudh that he should come out and do the rituals for Jhanak’s soul. Anirudh says he has no purpose now because Jhanak is dead, and he didn’t do anything for her when she was alive. Aditya asks him if he can forget Jhanak. Anirudh says never. Aditya insists that this is why he must come out, because it’s important.
