The Inspector asks the child who the driver is. The child replies that he is the driver. The Inspector then asks who they brought. The constables inform they have traced the car. The child runs to his mother, and the father asks why they stopped their car. The driver explains they mistook Redan’s Baba for someone else. The father says they can see their child is scared. Mohan apologizes, explaining they lost their own child and this misunderstanding happened, hoping they can understand a parent’s pain. The Inspector also apologizes. The father says it’s fine and walks away with his family. Radhika thinks Mohan does not realize what he just said — he called Manan his son. She reflects that she kept a son away from his father, yet a father’s love cannot stay away from his child. Punam thinks she could not save Manan, but now no one can save her from Yug. Meera puts a hand on Punam’s shoulder, offers her water, and tells her not to worry. Punam drinks but stays troubled. Meera says she will bring something else and leaves. Punam thinks Manan will be found, and if anything happens to him, the man he calls father will be responsible. She considers telling Meera about Yug’s intentions.
Mohan asks Yug about seeing Manan in the van. Yug says Mohan only saw from behind, and the child looked like Manan. He blames news channels for the confusion. Mohan says Yug should not make excuses. Yug claims the Inspector will blame him for false information. Mohan says this makes him think Manan has gone somewhere else. Yug refuses to believe it, saying Manan is a simple boy. The Inspector tells them to go home since the kidnappers may call for ransom. Yug insists he will not leave until they find Manan. Mohan says they can print posters. Yug says they can do it here, but Radhika steps in and convinces Yug to return home.
Manan bangs on a locked door, calling out to see if his parents are there. No one answers. He sees a dog sitting outside and remembers how the dog always finds him. He asks the dog to help him open the door or call someone. The dog sniffs at the door and then runs away. Manan waits, hoping the dog returns. Yug asks Radhika where her car is. She says Garv took it, so she came by auto. Yug says his car is parked outside the school. Mohan offers to take them with him since they are going the same way. Yug refuses, but Mohan questions how they will get a taxi. Yug reluctantly agrees. Punam wonders what to do to find Manan. She looks at Meera and decides she can trust her. She takes Meera aside to talk about Yug, but Yug suddenly appears and greets his mother. Punam becomes nervous.
Mohan drives while Yug helps Radhika into the back seat. She asks Mohan to sit with her, covering her face. Mohan keeps glancing at her in the rearview mirror. Yug notices and suspects Mohan is staring at his wife. He vows to end Mohan after dealing with Manan. Mohan thinks about teaching Manan to ride a bicycle and how Manan once kissed his cheek. He gets emotional, wiping away tears. Radhika notices and feels he is already connected to Manan without knowing the truth. She thinks everything has changed between them, yet nothing has. Yug believes Radhika smiles because of him and that Manan is the biggest obstacle in his life. He decides that once Manan is gone, Radhika will be his. Radhika silently prays for Manan’s safety, knowing both his parents are praying for him today.
The dog returns. Manan tells him not to leave because he is scared alone. Feeling thirsty, Manan tries to get his water bottle, but it falls and spills. Meera asks why Punam brought her aside. Punam says she needs to talk about Yug, but Yug appears behind her. Punam grows worried while Meera notices her stress. Yug walks over and stands beside them. Radhika stands before the temple, her eyes brimming with tears as she prays. She says that even when she and Mohan are together, they still cannot save their son. Her voice trembles as she recalls how both she and Mohan were attacked when they stood side by side. Mohan, standing nearby, slowly begins walking oward her. But before he can reach her, Yug notices and, his eyes blazing with fury, spins Mohan around. Without a word, he drags Mohan into his room. Moments later, in a sudden burst of violence, Yug slashes Mohan’s throat.
Earlier that day, Punam approaches Meera with urgency in her voice, saying she needs to speak to her about something important concerning Yug. But before she can continue, Yug appears behind them, smiling as though he hasn’t heard a word. He tells Punam he knows she’s missing Manan deeply, but reassures her—almost mockingly—that if God wishes, they will find him. Then, in a chilling undertone, he adds that if he himself wishes, Manan will never be found. Punam stiffens in worry, but Yug pats her shoulder and tells her not to fret.
Meanwhile, Radhika returns home. Pari Dadi rushes to her and embraces her warmly, but the moment she feels Radhika’s trembling body, her own eyes fill with sorrow. Garv, too, looks on with worry. Dadi tells Radhika she understands a mother’s pain—how nothing is more precious than a child, and how unbearable it is when that child is far away. She urges Radhika to have faith in Ba Kai Bihari ji, reminding her that He, too, knows a mother’s suffering and will surely reunite them with Manan soon.
Radhika steps toward the temple and folds her hands, speaking softly to her deity. Dadi is right, she says—He loves both of His mothers and has felt the agony she feels now. Just as Devki Maa once endured the loss of her son, she is enduring the same pain along with the entire family. Manan, she says, is the heartbeat of their home. She begs Ba Kai Bihari ji to show them the way and bring him back. Elsewhere, little Manan sits alone on the cold floor, his throat dry and aching. He hears the distant barking of a dog and looks around desperately for water. But the bottle is empty; every drop has spilled. His lips crack with thirst, so he wets them with the small damp patch left on the ground. It’s not enough. “What should I do, Maa?” he whispers. Then, remembering his schoolbag, he pulls it toward him and finds a tissue. He soaks it in the water on the floor and squeezes it into his mouth—just enough to moisten his throat. He repeats the act, determined to survive.
Back at the temple, Radhika feels a hand on her shoulder. She turns in surprise and sees Ajeet. He tells her not to worry, that everything will be fine. Gungun, standing nearby, almost calls her “Ramaa” but stops herself, instead saying “Radhika aunty.” She promises that Manan will return soon—they’re all praying for him, just like her. Overcome, Radhika hugs Gungun tightly, flashes of her own childhood and memories of her Ramaa flooding her mind. Gungun, hesitant at first, hugs her back. Ajeet wipes away tears as he watches.
Gungun tells Radhika not to lose hope, reminding her how she used to say they should always think positively. Manan, she insists, is strong enough to take care of himself. Just then, a household worker passes by carrying a tiffin. Radhika stops him to ask where he found it. He says it was left on the table. Realization hits Radhika—Manan didn’t take his lunch with him. He’s been hungry since morning, and she knows he can’t stand being hungry for long.
In the classroom where he’s held, Manan leans against the door and whispers to the dog that his stomach aches. He regrets not listening to his mother—if he had, he would have food now. Even the biscuits he had, he gave to Champi. His voice breaks as he calls out to his mother again and again. Then he notices a biscuit crumb in the corner. He picks it up and eats it slowly, savoring the tiny relief it brings. On the table, he spots a few sticks of chalk. Without thinking, he grabs them and chews them, desperate to fill his empty stomach.
Back at the temple, Radhika’s mind races. What must her son be going through right now? He’s been without food since morning, and it’s all because he didn’t take the tiffin she gave him. Her voice cracks in prayer. Yug, watching her with Punam, suddenly remembers—Radhika herself hasn’t eaten anything either. He pretends concern, saying they should get her something before she falls ill. But his eyes tell another story.
At that moment, Gungun notices her father approaching. She steps in front of him, asking where he’s going. Mohan says he wants to meet Radhika, but Gungun tells him she’s too distraught to see anyone. Inside the temple, Radhika pleads with Ba Kai Bihari ji again: her son cannot bear hunger. She doesn’t want anything else in life, only to see Manan return safe and fed.
From behind, Mohan calls out to her. He reminds her that earlier today, when they waited for the school bus, he had placed three mangoes in Manan’s bag. If Manan feels hungry, he says, he’ll eat them. Somewhere far away, Manan remembers the mangoes too. He drags his bag closer, rummages through it, and pulls one out. As he peels it, he thanks “Uncle M” for giving him something to eat. The sweet juice runs down his hands, and he smiles for the first time all day. He even offers some to God and jokes with Champi. “Uncle M was right,” he says. “Mangoes are delicious. They’re my new favorite.”
Radhika, miles away, senses it—her son has eaten because of his father’s love. She thanks Ba Kai Bihari ji for granting this mercy in such dark times. Yet the bitter truth still haunts her: even together, she and Mohan cannot save their child. She whispers that Radha and Mohan were always together, and that’s why they were attacked.
Through the window, Mohan sees her and takes a step closer, his eyes full of questions. Radhika freezes—has he recognized her? She closes her eyes as he reaches out. But suddenly Yug storms in, grabs Mohan’s arm, and drags him away, his face twisted with rage.
Manan, back in the locked room, rests his head against the door. “Maa was right,” he murmurs. “Fruits really are good for you.”
In the bedroom, Mohan turns to Yug, asking what’s wrong. Yug answers not with words but with action—he locks the door, pulls out a knife, and in one swift motion, cuts Mohan’s throat. Mohan’s eyes widen in shock.
UPCOMING
Yug serves food to Radha. She starts coughing, and he gets up to fetch her water. His mother warns him that if anything happens to Manan, Radha will die. Yug’s eyes darken, and he warns her that if she mentions death again, she will be the one to face it. Meanwhile, Manan breaks a window and cries out to the security guard for help.
