Ranbir then turns to the guests and apologizes for the chaos. He says what happened was a mistake, one they can fix. He apologizes to Adrija and admits he never truly wanted to marry her. He says he only loves Meghla and wants to marry her instead. Meghla, visibly shaken, tells him firmly that she doesn’t feel the same way. “This can’t happen,” she says and quickly walks away as Bolna Mahi Bolna plays in the background.
Ranbir pleads with Chandan to speak to Meghla, saying if she agrees, they can go ahead with the ceremony—with her. Chandan glares at him and asks if he even understands what’s happening. Ranbir insists that it was a miscommunication and says he’s ready to apologize again to Adrija, but marrying her would only hurt them both. “You think I’ll be happy? You think she’ll be happy?” he argues.
Meanwhile, Meghla goes to meet Guru ji, unable to hold back her tears. He’s surprised to see her alone and hugs her when she breaks down. He assumes she’s feeling emotional about Adrija’s wedding. But Meghla, overwhelmed, says she can’t return home—ever. Guru ji tries to calm her down and asks if her parents scolded her. He asks if the aashirwad ritual has taken place yet. She shakes her head and says no.
Back at the venue, Ranbir tries to justify his actions. He says he’ll find a good life partner for Adrija. But Chandan shuts him down. “You don’t have to worry about her. We are her parents—we’ll take care of her,” he says coldly. Balveer steps in, furious, and scolds Ranbir. Ranbir accepts all the blame but insists that going forward with this wedding would be a bigger mistake. Meher says they all believed he loved Adrija and wanted to marry her. She points out that Meghla is younger, and if things were different, he should’ve said something earlier.
Ranbir tries to explain. He says he had spoken to them before. On a phone call, they heard Meghla singing and he had told them that he loved that voice—that he loved her voice. He assumed they would understand that he was talking about Meghla, not Adrija. He even corrects them, saying Meghla and Adrija are actually the same age. Chandan responds firmly, saying that he won’t get Meghla married before Adrija. Ranbir says he’s willing to wait, but only if Meghla is ready.
Param says he feels terrible for both Adrija and Meghla. Harman adds that he never imagined something like this could happen. Simran questions Ranbir’s assumption, asking how he ever thought Meghla might reciprocate his feelings. Ranbir quietly says that he thought she understood him—that if someone asked her, maybe she’d agree. Balveer loses his temper and reminds him that they were talking about a roka, and now it’s final—he will marry Adrija.
Diljot finally explodes in anger, saying, “Is marriage a joke to you?” She questions whether they’ll now force a marriage just because Ranbir changed his mind. She accuses them of ruining her life already. Dadi steps in and stops her, then apologizes to Chandan on behalf of her family. She insists that they came for Adrija’s roka, and Ranbir will marry Adrija. But Chandan, heartbroken and angry, says, “You think she’ll marry Ranbir after knowing all this? She has her self-respect. She’s been humiliated in front of everyone. She’ll never forget this.” His voice shakes as he says he doesn’t even know what to say to his daughter anymore.
Back at the ashram, Guru ji tells Meghla that he needs to call her father. Meghla quickly stops him. He looks at her with concern and asks why she’s crying. “You aren’t telling me anything,” he says. She can barely speak. He presses her gently, asking if the boy’s family didn’t show up. Meghla tells him that they came, but the ritual didn’t happen. When he asks about Ranbir, she finally reveals the truth—he refused to marry Adrija.
Guru ji immediately understands what’s going on. Meghla says she’s confused, hurt, and scared that everyone will blame her. Adrija won’t be able to stand her after this. She says she never expected this and insists she’s not at fault. Guru ji then asks her plainly, “Does Ranbir like you?” She hesitates and nods. “He said this was a mistake… that he likes me,” she confesses.
Guru ji listens and tells her gently that it’s not Ranbir’s fault. “You’re a wonderful girl. It’s easy to like you—especially after hearing you sing.” Meghla shakes her head, distressed, and tells him not to say that. She says Adrija has been publicly humiliated because of her and won’t ever forgive her. She says she only wants one thing—that Ranbir should marry Adrija, not her. She just wants to stay at the ashram, away from all the pain. Guru ji sighs, telling her that Ranbir fell for her and she didn’t even notice.
