Saras And Kumud 15th August 2025 Written Update Starlife
The episode opens with the locksmith talking to Kumud. She asks why he arrived so late when they had called him an hour earlier. He replies that he only got the call 15 minutes ago and proudly claims that their service is known for its speed. Kumud thinks to herself that people here never miss a chance to praise themselves. The locksmith starts working while she watches in silence. Outside, Anushka walks away from the house. Kabir sees her and thinks that everyone has been showing her too much affection, but today he will do something about it. He follows her out. The locksmith finishes making the key, and Kumud asks how much it costs. When he says two hundred rupees, she protests that she could buy a whole new lock and key for the same price. Still, she hands over the money.

Anushka stands by the road, trying to get an auto. Kabir drives up beside her, offering her a lift. She hesitates, half-joking, and asks whether he plans to kidnap her or take her to some mountain and push her off. Kabir replies that it’s up to her whether she wants to sit in the car or not. She decides to accept, thinking she’s already running late, and gets in. As they drive, Kabir glances at her with a smirk, thinking that she came here to marry him but will soon be running to save herself. Anushka, meanwhile, suspects he must have some hidden reason for offering her the ride. Elsewhere, Saras is calling Kumud. He says he has been trying to reach her for a long time. She decides not to mention the locksmith incident, not wanting to make him worry. She explains that her phone was on silent and asks how his office is. Saras says it’s great and tells her about his secretary who calls him “boss.” She asks about food, and he says he ordered a Gujarati thali. When he asks what she has eaten, Kumud says she will make something simple.
Suddenly, Kabir pulls the car over in a lonely spot. Anushka grows tense, wondering where he’s gone. After a short wait, she sees him returning with a small packet. When she asks what it is, he says proudly that it’s desi daaru—country liquor—and warns her not to mention it at home. Shocked, she listens as he tells her he has been drinking it for 15 years, two or three times a day. He casually adds that tonight he will be playing cards with friends. He drops her off, waves goodbye, and drives away, smiling to himself. He thinks that soon she’ll be packing her bags for Mumbai.
Back in her room, Saras asks Kumud if she’s missing him. She says she is and tells him to come soon before his “Nikki” comes calling him boss again. They share a laugh. After ending the call, Kumud decides to make khichdi. Sitting alone with her plate, she smiles faintly as memories of her family dining together flood her mind. At home, everyone is missing Kumud and Saras. Kusum admits she doesn’t feel like cooking. Guniyal says khichdi was Kumud’s favorite. Anushka walks in, and Vidyachatur mentions that Saras must be busy with work. Kusum suggests calling Kumud, and despite Guniyal’s hesitation, she dials her number.
When Kumud answers, Kusum puts the call on speaker. Kumud says she was just thinking about all of them. Vidyachatur guesses she hasn’t eaten yet, and she becomes emotional. She remembers how Badimaa used to feed her when she refused to eat. Badimaa tells her to take a bite in her father’s name, then another for her mother’s, and then for Badimaa herself. Anushka adds playfully, “One for me too.” Kumud smiles through her tears, saying she is lucky because the saying is true—God cannot be everywhere, so he made mothers, and she has two. Vidyachatur warns her not to make them cry or they won’t be able to eat. Kumud tells them they must eat, or she will hand the phone to Kusum. She asks her mother to call whenever she misses her, then ends the call. Taking another bite, she says softly that this one is for Saras.
Meanwhile, the family sits down to eat when Kabir walks in wearing torn clothes. Everyone is shocked. Guniyal asks what happened, and Kabir brushes it off, saying he just fell. She offers to bring haldi milk, but he refuses. Anushka suggests lemon water, calling it an energy booster, but he waves it off. Inwardly, Kabir is pleased—his little act seems to have convinced her, which means her plans for marriage will be over soon.
Later, Kumud waters the plants, irons clothes, flips through a magazine, and half-heartedly watches TV, unable to focus on anything. Kusum, meanwhile, tells Guniyal and Badimaa she is making paneer tikka for Danny, wanting to spend more time with him. She goes to see him, offers to make tea, and gives him a head massage. She promises to cook his favorite dishes every day. Danny notices her unusual behavior but smiles.
Back in her own thoughts, Kumud gazes out the window. How can anyone feel so lonely when surrounded by so many people? she wonders. When will you come, Saras?
