READ PREVIOUS UPDATE : Saras And Kumud 22nd August 2025 Written Update Starlife – Kumud cries on the way to the airport
The episode opens with Saras telling Prashant that Kumud has gone to Ratnagiri for a few days. Prashant responds calmly, saying it’s fine and that they’ll meet later, asking Saras to take care. But as Saras walks away, there’s an uneasiness in his eyes—something about the conversation feels off to him, though he doesn’t dwell on it.
Meanwhile, at home, Badimaa returns from Kabir’s room and shares that he doesn’t want to eat today. Kusum tries to lighten the mood by asking Danny to have food first, since he’s glued to his phone, busy chatting away. Her expression changes when she notices how engrossed he looks, and a sudden worry crosses her mind—could it be Kiran again? On the other side of the table, Vidyachatur suggests that Anushka postpone her project submission, but Anushka shakes her head firmly. She says she has too much work to delay it. Badimaa sighs, her tone softening, and says they will all miss Anushka. Ever since Kumud left, she explains, it felt as though God himself sent them another daughter in Anushka. And now, with her departure approaching, their hearts feel heavy with sadness.
Kabir, alone in his room, is troubled by his own thoughts. He replays Anushka’s words in his head, her laughter, her warmth, the way she cared for him without hesitation. He whispers to himself that this is what he wanted—he wanted her to go away soon—yet now that it is happening, restlessness grips his heart. Why is he so unsettled? He closes his eyes and remembers her smile, her playfulness, the spark in her voice. He mutters, almost helplessly, “What is wrong with me?”
At that moment, Kumud returns home. She pauses at the doorway, her face glowing with affection as she thinks of Saras. “I couldn’t leave,” she tells herself. “For me, home is wherever you are, Saras. When you come back this evening, you’ll find the best surprise waiting.” With that thought, she steps inside, only to freeze in shock. Saras is sitting with Nikki, working. It is the first time she has ever seen him working at home—and of all people, with Nikki beside him.
Saras looks up and beams. “Kumud…” he says warmly, rising with a smile. Nikki greets her politely with a “Hello, Ma’am,” and Kumud replies in kind, masking her surprise. Saras asks Nikki to leave, and she gathers her things, waving goodbye before slipping out. Kumud turns to Saras and asks why he is home when she stopped him from coming to the airport because of his meeting. Saras explains that after she left, the client called to say the meeting was postponed. So, instead of wasting time, he asked Nikki to bring the file home. Kumud folds her arms and says he could have at least told her. Saras teases, asking why he should bother her over such a small thing. Across the street, Prashant spots Kumud at home and fumes with suspicion, convinced Saras has lied to him.
Saras’s phone rings, a client on the line. He waves off Kumud’s frown and says gently, “Don’t fight with me now, it’s nothing serious. Smile, wifey—we’re going out this evening.” She softens and smiles, nodding. “Come soon,” she says. He promises he will, excusing himself to go change.
Elsewhere, Prashant’s frustration boils over. He hurls his tea cup across the room, shattering it in anger. Back at the Desai house, Anushka shares her heart with Badimaa. She admits she has never felt such attachment before. “This is the first time in my life I feel like I belong somewhere,” she says, her voice thick with emotion. “You feel like my parents. Kusum and Kumud are like my sisters. Danny, Saras, and…” She trails off, unable to finish, but it’s clear who she means. Tears well up in her eyes as she adds, “I will miss you all so much.”
Nearby, Kusum notices Danny constantly checking his messages. Badimaa calls his name, but he doesn’t hear. Kusum nudges him, telling him to put the phone aside and eat properly. But Danny brushes her off, saying he’ll be right back, and leaves quickly. Doubt stirs in Kusum’s heart, making her restless.
On the street, a wealthy-looking aunty berates the security guard angrily. She claims her purse has gone missing and threatens to file a complaint if it isn’t found. Kumud, watching from a distance, thinks the woman seems to pick fights everywhere she goes. Then Kumud spots a purse on the ground—it’s the aunty’s. She picks it up and hands it to her. Relieved, the woman thanks her profusely and complains that the guard has vanished, leaving her with no one to help carry her heavy bags. Kumud offers to help, saying it’s no trouble.
Back at home, Kusum storms into her room, determined to confront Danny about this mysterious “Kiran.” She calls out for him but finds only his phone lying on the table. “I hate this,” she mutters in frustration. Suddenly, a message pops up on the screen. It’s from Kiran, asking Danny to meet at the place where they first met. Kusum’s heart clenches. “Who is this Kiran, and why didn’t Danny tell me anything?” she wonders, anger and suspicion swirling inside her.
Meanwhile, the aunty invites Kumud in for coffee, insisting she stay. Her tone is commanding, almost scolding, though her words are kind. Kumud sits, amused and confused, thinking even Badimaa doesn’t scold her so sternly. At the same time, Kusum tracks Danny’s car to a quiet spot. She hides behind a wall and sees Danny with a long-haired person—it looks like a man. She is stunned. “Why didn’t Danny tell me about this Kiran? And why does he meet her in secret?” Danny suddenly senses someone’s presence and mutters that Kusum cannot possibly be here. But she hides quickly, her mind racing with questions.
Inside the aunty’s house, Kumud notices a framed photo and asks who it is. The aunty replies it’s her son. Kumud then gestures to another woman in a picture and asks if she’s the daughter-in-law. The aunty shakes her head. “No, that is my son’s wife,” she explains, handing Kumud coffee. She shares that they live in Mumbai. Kumud admits she has never seen them visit, and the aunty sighs sadly. Her son left home when he was just eight, she says. He used to visit occasionally, but not once in the past three years. “I suppose he’s busy in his own life now,” she adds, her voice trembling.
With tears in her eyes, the aunty pulls another photo from her purse—her late husband. “He left me too soon,” she says softly. “But he wanted me to be independent. And I am. I manage everything myself, run this house, keep myself busy. The days pass quickly with work. But when evening comes…” Her voice breaks as she continues, “the clock slows down, the house grows silent, and loneliness creeps in. Who should I talk to? I play loud music so the silence won’t swallow me.”
Kumud, touched, apologizes for misunderstanding her earlier fights. The aunty smiles faintly and says it’s fine. “People always call me quarrelsome anyway. Now you and I are friends. But I warn you—I’ll still play my music.” Kumud laughs and promises to join her. “We’ll dance to it together,” she suggests. The aunty’s eyes brighten. “Yes, I’ll teach you some steps. We’ll have fun, and you can show your husband.” Kumud smiles warmly at the thought.
Back at the Desai home, Badimaa sits quietly, looking through old photos of Saras and Kumud’s wedding. Anushka enters, asking for Kusum, but learns she and Danny have gone out. She notices Badimaa sitting alone and asks what she’s doing. Badimaa explains she was missing Saras and Kumud and was looking at their pictures. Anushka sits beside her, smiling, and says she remembers visiting as a child, when Kumud was always with Badimaa. “Even Saras is close to you,” she adds. “He calls you Maai, doesn’t he?”
Tears fill Badimaa’s eyes as she nods. “Yes. I’ve always been like his mother. His real mother died, and he cried endlessly in my lap. When I covered his head with my pallu, he finally stopped. He lived with me until his father took him away to Dubai. Saras never changed, and our bond of mother and son will never break.” She wipes her tears and smiles again as they continue looking at pictures. They praise Kumud’s beauty and then laugh as Badimaa recalls how Dadaji once claimed that whoever possessed a certain pearl would rule, and how the family fought over it.
Elsewhere, Kumud anxiously waits for Saras, noting that he’s already an hour late. Suddenly, a vase topples and shatters on the floor. She bends down to clean it and notices a crack running along the wall. “How can such a small vase cause this?” she wonders. Just then, Saras calls from downstairs, telling her he’s back and asking her to hurry down. Kumud points out the crack, but Saras dismisses it, saying it’s strange but they can check later. “Come fast, I’m waiting,” he insists. Kumud nods, leaving the matter for now.
