Saras And Kumud On Starlife Monday 28th July 2025 Written Episode Update
The episode opens with Kusum receiving a phone call from her school friend, Anushka. After chatting for a bit, Kusum tells her to call again once she reaches Ratnagiri. She then shares with Danny and the rest of the family that Anushka is visiting the town for some work and plans to stay with them. Vidyachatur is fine with the idea, but Kusum expresses some hesitation. Danny asks what’s bothering her, and Kusum explains that with Saras and Kumud already overwhelmed with the school issues and their upcoming trip to Mumbai, Anushka’s visit might not be the right timing. Still, Vidyachatur reassures her that it’s alright. Kusum fondly recalls how Anushka was her closest friend back in school, even showing them old photographs. She reveals they used to call her “battery” because of her thick glasses, and remembers how she was always the top student before her family had to move away.

Meanwhile, in their room, Kumud is feeling anxious. Saras quietly watches her before playfully blowing air on her face to distract her. He tries to calm her down, telling her that everything will be okay and that they should wait for the health officials to identify the real issue. He notices how tired she looks and urges her to get some sleep. When she protests, he offers to sleep on the couch. She stops him, but he insists he has some work to finish. As he turns to go, she suddenly hugs him, simply saying she felt the need to hold him. A soft moment follows as the two embrace lovingly. Saras gently tells her again that everything will work out, and she agrees to sleep. As she lies down, he begins working on his laptop, and she watches him fondly. He teases her, saying she won’t be able to sleep if she keeps staring at him. She switches off the lights and finally closes her eyes. Saras smiles and continues working.
Later in the night, Saras finishes some work and walks over to Kumud to cover her with a blanket. He gently brushes her hair back and gives her a comforting touch. Quietly, he steps out and returns to his work. By morning, he falls asleep on the chair. When he wakes up and notices the blanket over him, he realizes Kumud is gone and starts looking for her. Kusum arrives with a cup of tea and informs him that Kumud left early for an urgent meeting at the school. She also reminds him that he’s scheduled to leave for Mumbai in the evening. Saras says their decision to go depends on the outcome of the food sample report, hoping for a positive result.
Elsewhere, Vidyachatur and Laxminandan are enjoying tea together. Danny and Kabir return after working out, with Danny bragging about Kabir’s 200 push-ups. Danny asks Kusum if Kumud has called, but she hasn’t. Kabir assures them that Kumud told him the children are no longer in danger. Laxminandan then informs the family that he must return to Dubai soon. Vidyachatur encourages him to rest a bit longer, but Laxminandan insists that his business demands his presence. Danny offers to accompany him, and Kusum supports the idea. However, Laxminandan turns them down, saying he’s in good health and doesn’t want to disrupt anything since Saras has to go to Mumbai and Kabir is still new to handling the business. He assures them he has enough people in Dubai to assist him and promises to return once his work is done.
At school, the cook pleads his innocence to the principal, insisting that he prepared good food and would never deliberately do wrong. Another teacher accuses him of stealing quality ingredients to use at home while serving substandard food to the students. Kumud steps in and says they can’t blame him without proof and suggests they wait for the report. Just then, the health officials arrive with the results. The officer gravely informs them that the food served was of poor quality, which led to the food poisoning incident. The principal is stunned. Kumud tries to defend the school’s reputation, stating it has always maintained high standards. But the officer explains that as per the rules, the report must be sent to Delhi, and there’s a risk of the school’s license being revoked. He adds that an official inquiry will follow, and the school may be shut down. Everyone is devastated.
Kumud rushes home and shares the heartbreaking news with the family. Kusum wonders how the entire school can be judged based on one mistake. Badimaa gently points out that while that may be true, rules are rules, and the children’s health was compromised. Later, Kumud sits silently in her room, visibly shaken. Saras follows her and sees the pain on her face. He tries to console her, promising that things won’t spiral out of control and urging her not to worry. Just then, Kumud gets a call from the principal, asking her to travel to Delhi immediately to meet the Education Officer. She’s surprised and hesitant, but Saras encourages her to accept. After ending the call, Saras tells her this is the right step and reminds her that they’ve already packed. He suggests going with her to Delhi, but she refuses, insisting he stick to the original plan and head to Mumbai. They argue gently, and Kumud says they’ve always managed to support each other even when apart. Saras finally gives in and wipes her tears.
Kumud says she has to leave now and tells him to take care. They embrace once more. She then hugs the rest of the family, receiving their love and blessings. Vidyachatur urges her to finish the task and return soon. Danny offers to drop her at the airport since Saras can’t go. Kumud’s eyes well up as she leaves. Saras quietly walks her out, both weighed down by the separation.

Vidyachatur reflects on how things have changed so suddenly. Saras and Kumud are heading in different directions, and now even Laxminandan is leaving for Dubai. Badimaa agrees and says they’ll truly miss everyone.
