The episode begins with Kabir walking toward his car, unaware that Kumud is nearby, watching him nervously. She hides quickly as she sees him approach. Kabir gets a call from the doctor about Laxminandan and gives him strict instructions. He tells the doctor to do exactly as he says, insisting that he won’t let anything go wrong now that he’s so close to reaching his goal. After Kabir leaves, Kumud steps out of her hiding spot, confused and anxious about what Kabir is up to. She can’t help but wonder why Saras went to see the lawyer and what connection it might have with Kabir’s mysterious actions.
Saras, meanwhile, is at the lawyer’s office. The lawyer asks him if he’s sure about transferring everything to Danny. Without hesitation, Saras agrees and signs the legal papers. The lawyer hands him a copy, and Saras thanks him before leaving. Back at home, Badimaa arrives at Saras’s house holding prasad for the children. Ghuman opens the door and coldly tells her that no one is home. Badimaa politely says she’ll come back later, but Ghuman rudely tells her to call before coming next time so she doesn’t waste anyone’s time. Badimaa, fed up, responds with a taunt of her own. She tells Ghuman that now it’s clear she never truly accepted her daughters, and the two get into a tense exchange.
Just then, Saras walks in and sees them. Ghuman falls silent at once. Saras greets Badimaa warmly and notices her troubled expression. He asks what’s wrong, and she says she’s upset with him for forgetting her after his wedding. Saras apologizes and gives her a hug. When she tries to leave, Saras invites her inside, not caring that Ghuman had earlier tried to keep her out. Ghuman watches silently, frustrated that Saras always sides with Badimaa and realizing she needs to keep an eye on her.
At Kumud’s house, her parents are having a serious conversation about Laxminandan. Guniyal says Kumud will be hurt if she finds out that Saras is upset with her. They also discuss the money Kabir gave them, which he claimed was rent. Vidyachatur says Kabir doesn’t listen to anyone and that they should use the money to help educate poor children. Guniyal agrees and praises Kabir for always helping out. Kumud overhears all of this and feels uneasy. She doesn’t understand how Kabir has managed to earn everyone’s trust so easily. She sees something suspicious in him that no one else seems to notice.
Kumud decides she might be able to find some answers in Kabir’s room while he’s away. She asks about Badimaa and learns she went to the temple. Then, pretending to go look for some books, she makes her way to Kabir’s room. Kalika offers to help, throwing in a few sarcastic remarks, but Kumud responds calmly and sharply, saying they aren’t hiding from anyone and don’t need to cover their faces like criminals. She brushes Kalika off and continues on her way.
At Saras’s house, he sits down with Badimaa and opens up about everything. She asks if he’s really planning to leave after Navratri, and Saras confirms it. He explains that if he doesn’t leave, then Danny will, and he can’t let that happen. Badimaa urges him to try fixing things again, but Saras says he already has, and it didn’t work. He believes his leaving is the only way to make things better. Badimaa asks him what he’ll do about Kumud. Can he really live without her? Saras looks down, admitting he hasn’t even thought about that. He says Danny has always been like a son to him, and he raised him just like Badimaa raised him. He adds that Kumud taught him how to truly live again, and losing both of them will leave him feeling empty. Badimaa pleads with him not to go, reminding him that his happiness matters too, but Saras remains torn and quiet.
Meanwhile, Kumud reaches Kabir’s room and finds it locked. She immediately suspects that he’s hiding something. She checks the windows and manages to find one that’s not latched. She quietly climbs in and begins searching the room. She tries to access Kabir’s laptop but can’t figure out the password. She checks the cupboards and soon comes across a small model of their house, which shocks her. All of Kabir’s help and kindness toward her family suddenly seem suspicious in a new light. She begins to wonder if he’s plotting something dangerous.
Just then, Kabir returns home and heads straight to his room. Kumud panics and hides quickly. Kabir notices the drawers are open and some of his books are out of place. He realizes something is wrong and says to himself that everything was in order when he left. He checks the cupboard, then walks over to the window and notices it’s been opened. He looks outside suspiciously, unaware that Kumud is crouched right next to it, holding her breath.
UPCOMING
Ghuman asks Kusum where Kumud is. Kusum says she doesn’t know and asks Saras if he has seen her. Saras begins to worry, thinking Kumud wouldn’t be late for the Aarti unless something was seriously wrong.
