Despite the walls slowly closing in, Sammyday refuses to pick up the pace, continuing to stall progress in a situation that now teeters on the edge of collapse. Mthunzi, already burdened with suspicion, begins to see through the cracks in Sammyday’s composure. Each vague answer and delay sharpens Mthunzi’s instincts — he knows he’s being manipulated, but what he doesn’t yet know is why. The trust between them starts to rot from the inside, and Mthunzi, a man not known for patience, begins to circle with quiet fury, ready to strike at the first confirmed betrayal.
Meanwhile, Lihle makes a discovery that turns her world on its head. Hidden documents, or perhaps an overheard conversation — whatever it is, it changes everything. It’s not just the nature of the secret but who it implicates that sends a chill down her spine. What she thought was loyalty begins to look like strategic silence, and the implications ripple into her own standing. As the truth dawns, Lihle is left facing a choice: speak out and blow the lid off something massive, or stay quiet and protect herself — at the cost of her integrity.
At the same time, Kedibone is caught off-guard when Poet unexpectedly walks in on a conversation she never intended to be overheard. It’s a conversation laced with implications, secrets barely kept in check, and one that reveals far more than Kedibone would ever admit aloud. Now, with Poet’s eyes burning into hers, questions hanging unspoken in the air, Kedibone realizes there’s no way to talk herself out of it. Her mask slips for a moment too long — long enough for Poet to see something she can’t take back.
