Setting: Udaipur, India — during the monsoon season
Story:
Every year, during the first monsoon rain, a mysterious veiled dancer performs at the palace courtyard in Udaipur. No one knows who she is, but her dance is said to bring love, good fortune, and even glimpses of the future.
Aryan, a young tech entrepreneur from Mumbai, visits Udaipur to escape his noisy, hyper-connected life. He’s skeptical of folklore, but the charm of the palace, the rain-scented air, and the haunting music of the dancer pull him in.
That night, he sees her — the veiled woman, drenched in rain, dancing with firelight in her eyes. The moment their eyes meet, the rain slows. His watch glitches. For a second, time halts.
Later, Aryan discovers an old diary hidden in the palace guestroom. It belonged to Princess Amaya, a royal who vanished 150 years ago during the monsoon. The diary ends with a single line:
“If love remembers me, I shall return.”
Aryan becomes obsessed. Night after night, he returns to the courtyard. And each time, the dancer returns — always veiled, always silent.
One night, unable to bear the mystery, he runs to her mid-dance. Rain crashes down. He lifts her veil.
It’s Amaya. Alive. Ageless. Beautiful.
She speaks for the first time:
“You remembered me.”
But dawn is approaching. If she doesn’t return to her time by sunrise, she will vanish forever.
Aryan must choose:
Let her go and never see her again…
Or follow her into the past, risking everything.
To be continued…
