Nandini turns with a smile, expecting to see Mauli, but instead finds Raaj standing there. He questions what she’s been doing, reminding her she had said she was going to the washroom. She quickly lies that she was looking for him, though her eyes follow Mauli and Kunal as they walk away. Raaj notices her distracted gaze but says nothing for now. When she tries to head toward the room, he stops her. He tells her he didn’t bring her here to hide away in a hotel room—she should be mingling with people, making connections that could benefit his business. Without asking, he loosens her neatly braided hair.

Meanwhile, Kunal and Mauli are shown to the poolside by a waiter, as their room will take another fifteen minutes to be prepared. Mauli, tired and with aching feet, wants a moment to rest before the conference begins. At the same time, Nandini and Raaj are also at the poolside, chatting with a doctor. Nandini spots Mauli from a distance and excuses herself, claiming she needs the washroom. Memories of their old friendship wash over her, and she walks toward Mauli, eager to bridge the years between them. But just before she reaches her, a woman stops her to compliment the fruit decorations she’d made earlier. By the time she’s free, Mauli has already left.
The waiter then approaches Nandini with a flower, saying it’s from her husband. She accepts it, but moments later Raaj appears and demands to know who gave it to her. When she answers that it was him, he sneers—reminding her that he’s never given her flowers before. Then, in his usual cutting way, he asks if she’s managed to bring him any useful contacts from the conference, because if not, there’s no reason for him to waste such gestures on her. If a doctor offers her a ride, he says, she’d better return with their business card.
Upstairs, Mauli enters their hotel room and finds it transformed—soft candlelight, rose petals scattered, and a warm romantic glow. Kunal steps out from behind her, tossing petals in her direction. Mauli laughs, realizing this is why their room took longer to be ready. Kunal admits he noticed her tiredness and sore feet, so he planned a little surprise and offers her a foot massage. They share an intimate, affectionate moment together. Elsewhere, Nandini discreetly gets Mauli’s contact number from the hotel operator.
Kunal massages Mauli’s feet and then her head as they relax in bed. They’re about to leave for the conference when the phone rings. Mauli answers, but the caller stays silent. It’s Nandini, holding the line but unable to speak. Confused, Mauli hangs up. Kunal puts the phone aside and pulls her closer. In her room, Nandini reflects on their last encounter, admitting to herself that the mistakes back then were hers. Downstairs, Mauli and Kunal arrive for the conference. Kunal grumbles about how medicine has turned into a profit-driven business. A fellow doctor greets them warmly and even offers them a job opportunity.
Back in the room, Raaj is frantically searching for his conference pass. Nandini, in the bathroom, is startled when he yells for her. She insists she hasn’t seen it, but he threatens her with his usual harshness if it isn’t found soon. Moments later, he discovers the pass in his own pocket. Without apologizing, he orders her not to come downstairs unless he says so.
At the conference, Mauli is called to the stage. From the audience, Raaj recognizes her instantly—remembering that she once slapped him. Mauli begins her speech, sharing how she dared to dream with open eyes, but how her achievements are also built on the dreams of someone else. She recalls the words that kept her going: that it’s better for tears to fall after trying and failing than to dry up inside without ever making an attempt.
Standing outside the conference hall, Nandini listens, tears filling her eyes. Her mind drifts back to the day she’d given Mauli those exact words—when Mauli was on the verge of abandoning her medical studies. That day, she had shown up with cake to lift Mauli’s spirits, promising to bring tea next. She never imagined those words would echo back to her years later.
Inside, Mauli receives her award to loud applause. Outside, Nandini claps quietly, pride and regret mingling in her chest. In the crowd, Raaj turns, sees her standing there, and his face hardens in irritation.
