Years later, Mauli has built a happy life as a gynecologist, married to Dr. Kunal Malhotra, a pediatrician. Nandini, on the other hand, lives a nightmare. Her husband, Rajdeep, is an ambitious businessman with a controlling streak, who subjects her to relentless physical and emotional abuse. She hides her pain from the world, enduring his cruelty in silence. Fate intervenes when Kunal spots Nandini at a medical conference and later saves her from a near-fatal accident. He realizes she is the same Nandini Mauli often reminisces about. When he tells Mauli, she is overjoyed at the thought of reuniting with her long-lost friend. After seven years apart, they finally meet again. Nandini shares the news of her pregnancy, but her joy is short-lived. When Rajdeep learns of it, he reacts violently, beating her and abandoning her on the roadside. Kunal finds her in this broken state and rushes her to the hospital, but she tragically loses the baby.
With Mauli and Kunal’s support, Nandini gathers the courage to file domestic abuse charges against Rajdeep, leading to his arrest. She moves in with Mauli and Kunal, slowly finding her footing again. But as days pass, Kunal begins to feel a pull toward Nandini that he cannot ignore. He reminds himself of his loyalty to Mauli, yet his thoughts keep drifting back to Nandini. In time, she too realizes her feelings for him and, unable to control them, decides to leave town to protect their friendship.
Kunal refuses to let her go and confesses that he feels the same way. They begin a secret romance, which shatters Mauli’s heart when she learns the truth. Determined to leave, Mauli packs her bags, but Kunal’s mother intervenes, blaming her son and asking him to move out instead. Accepting his mistake, Kunal leaves the house. Mauli files for divorce, and Kunal moves forward with plans to marry Nandini. Just then, Mauli discovers she is pregnant. Kunal learns of it but, due to a misunderstanding, accuses her of faking it. Ignoring her pain, he marries Nandini, and the two begin a new life together while Mauli raises her unborn child alone.
Years later, Mauli lives with her daughter, Mishti, and her supportive friend Ishaan Khanna. Kunal returns from London with Pari, his daughter with Nandini. He is unaware that Mishti is also his child. Mishti and Pari quickly become close friends, unaware they are half-sisters. When Mauli and Kunal finally come face-to-face, she learns that Nandini died of cancer. Though deeply shaken, Mauli steps in to care for Pari as if she were her own.
The truth eventually comes out—Kunal learns Mishti is his daughter, and Mishti too discovers the truth. However, the revelation fills her with bitterness toward Kunal and Pari, blaming them for her mother’s heartbreak. Despite this, Mauli forgives Nandini’s memory and promises to love Pari equally. Ishaan proposes to Mauli, and she begins to find peace again. But when Kunal suffers an accident and loses his memory, recalling only his time with Mauli, she stays by his side until he recovers. Once his memories return, he reunites with both daughters. By then, Mauli has realized her true feelings lie with Ishaan. She chooses him, and they marry, welcoming a son named Ansh. Mishti forgives Kunal but embraces Ishaan as her father, who later adopts her.
Time passes, and Mishti, Pari, and Ansh grow up. Mauli, Kunal, and Ishaan have passed away, leaving the next generation to carry forward their intertwined legacies. Mishti, now a perfectionist who believes in love and commitment, is preparing to get engaged to her boyfriend, Veer. Pari, in contrast, is carefree and afraid of commitment, though her childhood friend Arnav loves her deeply. Together, Mishti and Pari run a successful event management company.
Things take a turn when Pari meets Veer’s friend Ruhaan, who feels an instant attraction to Mishti. He tries to suppress it, but their connection grows, even as Pari finds herself drawn to him. Mishti, unsettled by her feelings, tries to push them away and focus on Veer. Eventually, she admits to herself that she loves Ruhaan, and they confess their love to each other. She breaks off her engagement, but Veer, seeking revenge, tells Pari about their relationship, hoping to cause conflict. When Mishti learns of Pari’s feelings for Ruhaan, she decides to sacrifice her love, pretending to reconcile with Veer. Heartbroken, Pari proposes to Ruhaan, only to be rejected.
Ruhaan confronts Mishti about her sacrifice, but she refuses to admit the truth. Family pressure leads to both Mishti–Veer and Pari–Ruhaan wedding plans being set in motion. On the wedding day, Mishti collapses and is diagnosed with lupus. Realizing the truth, Pari selflessly donates her kidney to save her sister’s life. Grateful and free of pretenses, Mishti marries Ruhaan, and they move into a new home in the same apartment complex. In time, Pari accepts Arnav’s love, hinting that her heart may finally open to him. Surrounded by love and family, Mishti, Pari, Ruhaan, Ansh, and Arnav begin a new chapter together, watched over fondly by Radhika, Kunal’s mother.
